St. John's-based Target Marketing & Communications last night won Canada's first major award of the year at the 2006 Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival. The campaign promoted a giveaway contest at Irving Oil by humorously playing up small prizes. For example, a radio spot featured people being called up at home with the big news that they had won a chocolate bar or a bag of chips. The campaign won in the new promotional marketing category.
