2010 Marketing Awards hit Target - St. John’s shop only agency east of Quebec to win coveted national advertising awards

St. John’s, NL – Target brought home three Marketing Awards at the 2010 Marketing Awards Gala in Toronto last week for its Newfoundland & Labrador Tourism television campaign.

The already multi-award winning ad campaign highlights the Viking history of L’Anse aux Meadows, the natural beauty of Gros Morne National Park, and the creativity of the province’s unique architecture.

Target won a Bronze Marketing Award in the Television Campaign category, as well as two Craft Awards for Best Cinematography, and Best Use of Music.

The Marketing Awards is the most coveted prize in the Canadian advertising industry. The goal of the Marketing Awards, now in its 88th year, is to honor great advertising creative, and to demonstrate the world class creative being produced in the Canadian marketplace. The aim is to honor advertising that is relevant, effective and memorable – real advertising for real products and services.

Now in its 30th year, Target is an award-winning, full-service advertising and brand architecture firm based in St. John's, Newfoundland. One of the country's top creative shops, Target is one of only eight agencies in Canada to ever win a Gold Lion in the 55-year history of the Cannes International Advertising Festival, and the only East Coast agency to win Gold internationally. Target's clients include Newfoundland and Labrador Tourism, Air Canada Jazz, Irving Energy Distributors, Scouts Canada, Fronteer, Marble Mountain, Aurora Energy, Ganong Chocolate, and Maple Leaf Foods.
